German Federal Foreign Office (German Agencies Abroad)
200 websites, 48 languages, 1 system: Aperto developed one central editorial system for all German agencies abroad. Editors around the world use it to manage the websites of their embassy or consulship.
The German Federal Foreign Office contracted Aperto with the development of a style guide and implementation of a central editorial system for the 200 German agencies abroad.
Aperto developed a completely new conceptual design for the websites of the German agencies abroad, redesigned them and oversaw their technical implementation. With the new editorial system, editors around the world can manage the website of their embassy or consulship.
In times of crisis, the central editorial office can post important content to all websites at short notice. In turn, editors around the globe can access central elements from the Berlin office.
The CoreMedia editorial system serves as the technical basis for the agencies’ websites.
The more than 200 German agencies abroad act as Germany’s diplomatic business card. Users can find travel and safety notices, as well as information on visa regulations and the latest political developments on the websites of the embassies and consulships.
