EADS

EADS is Europe’s largest aircraft, aerospace and defence concern – and an Aperto client. Aperto assisted the corporate group with the relaunch of its websites and oversaw its technical implementation with the Magnolia content management system.

 

The Task

Clear, user-friendly, emotional and concisely structured: this is what EADS wanted for its new look on the net. The goal was to create a corporate website that serves the concern as an international, modern platform. For the CMS, a scaleable, sustainable enterprise solution needed to be set up for the company’s additional clients, and it had to be intuitive and easy to use for editors.

The Solution

EADS contracted Aperto with the technical implementation of the new web infrastructure, which was based on the Magnolia CMS (Enterprise Edition). Aperto used the Magnolia STK (Standard Templating Kit) to implement the new design.
Just six weeks after the start of the project, Aperto had set up the editorial templates so that EADS could start filling the individual pages with content. EADS was also provided with customised functionality such as the integration of Flash applications that can be managed from within Magnolia. Other focal points of the project included the customisation and extension of the Magnolia workflow to meet the client’s demands.
Apart from the technical implementation of the project, Aperto helped set up the necessary infrastructure, held international editorial training sessions and provided editorial support.
