Aperto Develops New KSB Website

Berlin agency deploys new global B2B platform for leading pump manufacturer.

Business customers of the KSB AG and other interested parties can now find what they’re looking for much faster on the corporation’s newly revamped website at www.ksb.com. The communications agency Aperto equipped the new site with a clear-cut user interface and uniform meta navigation. Getting from the homepage to the products and product docs is now easier than ever. The airy, modern design features flyout navigation, which ensures a rich user experience. In addition to newly compiled, search engine-optimised product texts, large-scale images visualise how KSB technology and services are put into action in the fields of industrial and power engineering, water management and mining. Qualitative interviews with customers and sales representatives from vendors for pumps, fittings and valves, and the corresponding systems were also included in the redesign.

The website is based on the latest version of the CoreMedia content management system. The CoreMedia Starter Kit concept was integrated and further developed for implementation on the site. For the innovative search function, the Lucene-based search platform Solr was also used, which has features such as “typeahead”. Aperto Online Marketing GmbH integrated high-performance metrics software, which analyses the use of the international KSB websites and delivers reports on optimising offers. A newsletter system serves as an active source of information for customers and business partners. Through social media monitoring, all of the KSB’s communication activities on the social web are tracked and analysed. Additional online marketing activities are currently being planned.

Apart from the German and English-language corporate website that was launched in early February, Aperto will be overseeing the relaunch of over 40 KSB regional sites in the months ahead.
